ScotlandThe SPA would like to inform all IM and area reps that the date of IM 5 has changed to 15th and 16th of November as a consequence of Rileys sponsorship of the Scottish Singles.
The venue for IM 5 remains Pennies Bar in Falkirk and the SPA would like to thank Davy Anderson for allowing us to change the date.

The Scottish Singles will now be held on the 13th and 14th of December at a Rileys Club as yet to be confirmed.

Rileys sponsor the SPA
ScotlandRileys press release & news article.

The Scottish Pool Association has teamed up with Rileys, the UK’s leading Pool and Snooker club operator.

This exciting new partnership will bring SPA members a package of special benefits.
Amongst these will be the opportunity to join a Rileys club free of charge.
In addition, on joining, SPA members will be able to take advantage of a 25% discount on all table play.

On behalf of the SPA, Ross McInnes said “I’m delighted we’ve created this partnership. It represents a major investment in Scottish pool. The benefits to our members will be tremendous and most importantly, long-term”.

This partnership comes as a result of plans made by Rileys to develop pool in Scotland. These plans include the introduction of many new ‘traditional’ pool tables in the sixteen Scottish Rileys clubs.
The first phase of this development is already complete with over twenty tables installed in clubs in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Penicuik.
But there’s much more !

Scottish Singles 2008
TournamentsThe names and entry fees for the Scottish Singles must be in over the next two meetings as the deadline for the names and entries to be handed into the Scottish Pool Association is the 3rd of May.
So please note the absolute deadline for any entries will be the April meeting.
Entry fee is still £5.00 per player, this being one of the biggest leagues in Scotland had a massive entry of just over 80 last year lets see if we can improve on this number. After all it was our very own Allan 'Aldo' MacLeod that was the runner up in 2007.

Cup draws
League NewsAt the recent meeting the draws for the following three cups were carried out (in the case of the KK and League cup it was just deciding the home team) The last 16 of the Ross Fulton Memorial cup was drawn and the dates were given otu for all three competitions.
However please note that due to the World Championships being on the first week in April the league would not be able to run the league cup as only one tie would be able to be played so with this in mind the date for the leageu cup has been put back and a league match shall be played that week instead.
